Introducing Heidi Hong!
I wanted to give everyone an introduction to our newest instructor, Heidi Hong who joins us to teach Tue 7:30pm Hatha Flow – Mixed Level. I know you will love Heidi – she brings a young vibrant energy to Yoga Sol! What I’d like to share with you about Heidi is she brings a very interesting blend of young experience to our studio. You will soon notice that she can do any pose (magnificently), has a beautiful yoga modeling portfolio, but maybe more interesting to me is Heidi’s interest and commitment to the therapeutic side of yoga. She teaches a couple classes a week for United Cerebral Palsy of Orange County and is also pursuing her 500-hour advanced yoga certification through Loyola Marymount’s Yoga Therapy RX program. I asked Heidi to give us a few comments on her experience teaching such varied populations – one day the kids at the United Cerebral Palsy center and the next day teaching advanced yoga to high level, high energy students.
Here’s what Heidi has to say……
Yoga is not about getting into the perfect posture, (although it may look beautiful and is a great intention) but the experience in each moment in the journey towards self-exploration and expression. Instead of fitting people into a posture, I like to tailor the posture to the person. From a child with autism to an athletic individual to someone 39 and holding, there can be a very profound experience whoever you are. There is beauty in our differences, but more so in those deep moments that connect us together. Look forward to sharing more with you on the mat.
Join me in welcoming Heidi and check out her Tue 7:30pm class! A perfect blend of dynamic young energy and intelligent skilled instruction!
